

If you were waiting to hear about the Zumba classes, you are in luck. Do you know that coffee is still only $1 a cup at the Legion? That has to be the lowest price in town. Maybe get some of your friends together and head on down there for a class and then drop into the lounge afterward for a cup of coffee. These classes run every Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Time to get back into shape after a lazy summer.

Keenager exercise classes began this week at the Legion Hall. But, it is a very reasonable storage fee, so you will want to check out the details before the snow flies. The Legion will not be responsible for any damage or vandalism, so you will need to make sure that your insurance coverage is up-to-date. Just contact the office and Wanda will provide you with the contract. The Legion Beach will be available for RV storage. With summer on the way out, although you would never guess that with this beautiful beginning to September, you might be wondering where to store your RV.

If you would like more information about attending, and everyone is welcome, just contact the local office for details. Some of your executives0 will be attending this meeting at their own expense, and will report back on what occurred at the latest convention and on any policy changes being introduced by the BC Yukon Command. This will be held in Forest Grove which is about a 20-minute drive from 100 Mile House. There is a zone meeting for all branches coming up Oct. Isn’t that what your mom would have said if you had not done what you know you were suppose to do? That was my attempt at humour. The next general meeting is scheduled as always for the first Tuesday of the month, so that’s Oct. OK, I have had my tantrum and said what I think needed to be said and now it is up to you. We can not hope to run an efficient branch without the help of our dear membership. Do you believe that? We only need 20 people, including the executive – of which there were eight in attendance – but nope, we could not scrape up another 12 members interested enough to take time out of their busy schedules to attend a meeting which usually lasts no longer than one hour. Now, we have more than 700 members in this wonderful branch and, guess what? We did not have enough for a quorum. I asked the editor of this fine newspaper to give me an extension on my deadline for this column because I wanted to get in the latest news after the General Meeting which was scheduled for Tuesday Sept.
